In short
These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Perde: Önce Sohbet app (“Perde”; in English, Perde: Talk First). By opening an account and using Perde, you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use Perde.
- App: Perde: Önce Sohbet (iOS)
- Provided by: Furkan Akturk, individual developer (App Store seller name), FAAPPS
- Contact: hello@faapps.io
How your personal data is processed is described in the Privacy Policy; the consent asked for two kinds of special category data is described in the Explicit Consent text.
How Perde works
- Rounds: Rounds start twice a week in each city. In the round that starts on Tuesday at 20:00, the curtain decision comes on Friday at 20:00; in the round that starts on Thursday at 20:00, it comes on Sunday at 20:00. All times are Turkey time (Europe/Istanbul).
- Who you meet: You are introduced only to people in your own city. For now, rounds run in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir; other cities are on the waitlist. If a city doesn’t have enough people for a round, that round doesn’t open in that city.
- Stories: When a round starts, two stories open for you (four with Perde+ or a Single round). A story is the time you spend writing with the other person for 72 hours; photos are closed and you only see what you have in common. A small daily question comes with the conversation.
- First message: it must be a sentence of at least 40 characters or a real answer to the daily question; a greeting alone isn’t enough.
- Extension: Once per story, if you both want, the time is extended by 24 hours.
- Curtain decision: When the time is up, you both say “Open it” or “Keep it closed” without seeing each other’s decision. You have 24 hours after the curtain time to decide and can change your decision until then. If you both say “Open it”, your photos and nicknames appear at the same moment. If one of you doesn’t want to, the story quietly closes; who said no is never shown.
- Rounds per week: Without Perde+ you join one round a week; you choose the day (Tuesday or Thursday) in the Lobby, Thursday by default. You can change your choice at any time; the change applies to your first round that hasn’t been prepared yet and doesn’t add a second round to the week. With Perde+ you join both rounds.
- Once per pair: The same two people are never introduced again in any round.
- Balance and queue: Each round is kept gender-balanced. Because of this, some people may not get into a round and are queued instead; a queued person has priority in their next round. When places are limited, people who came with an invite code are let in first.
- No guarantee: Perde doesn’t guarantee a set number of stories in a round or meeting any particular person. Two or four stories is an upper limit; depending on the number of people in the round, the balance and exclusions, fewer stories may open, or none.
Account
- Perde is for people aged 18 and over. You must give your real date of birth when you open an account.
- You take part in Perde as a real person and with a single account. You may not open an account for someone else, a fake account or a second account, or use someone else’s account.
- Your profile photo must be your own photo and must show your face. You may not use someone else’s photo, a celebrity’s photo, a drawing or an AI-generated image.
- To take part in rounds you need to complete selfie verification. Verification checks, by an automatic comparison on your phone, that your profile photo looks like you; it is not an official identity check and it can be wrong. Where needed, we may review your account separately.
- While you have an open story, you can’t change your profile photo; this way both photos are in place when the curtain opens.
- You are responsible for the security of the phone number or Apple account you sign in with.
- City: you change it in Settings › Account › City. The change applies from your next round; your ongoing stories continue in your old city. You can change your city once every 30 days; the first change after sign-up is free. No change can be made in the last half hour before your round is prepared (19:30–20:00). If you move to a city where we haven’t started yet, you go on the waitlist.
- Real name: it is optional; you can add, change or remove it in Settings › Account › Your real name. The other person sees it only in a story where the curtain has opened, and only if you chose “Show my name too” for that story. You may only enter your own name in this field; no contact details, usernames or links.
Rules of conduct
Treat the other person with respect. The following are not allowed:
- Sharing contact details before the curtain opens: phone numbers, email addresses, social media or messaging usernames, links. The server doesn’t send such messages; trying to get around the filter (splitting a number, writing digits as words and so on) also breaks the rule. Once the curtain has opened because you both wanted it to, sharing contact details is fine.
- Harassment, threats, insults, hate speech, sexual or unwanted messages, and pressuring someone.
- Asking for money, gifts, investments or help; scams; commercial advertising or promotion.
- Pretending to be someone else, or misrepresenting your age or identity.
- Sharing, keeping or spreading the other person’s messages, photos or personal information outside Perde without their permission. If you take a screenshot in a conversation, the other person is told.
- Any unlawful content or behaviour.
- Using Perde or its servers with automated tools, or trying to get around the rules or security measures by technical means.
Messages go through automatic filters on the server. A message that breaks the rules is not sent. A second such message in the same story closes the story; repeated violations within 30 days lead to a review of your account. In the first 24 hours of a story, if a message suggests meeting up, the other person is shown a short safety note.
Story rules
- End: You can end a story at any time. When you tap End, the story closes for both of you, neither of you can write any more and you are never introduced again in any round. The other person only sees “This story ends here”; who ended it isn’t shown.
- I know this person: If, during the curtain decision or after the curtain opens, you realise you know the other person, the story closes quietly and you won’t meet again. No reason is shown to the other person.
- 24 hours of silence: If one of you doesn’t write at all in the first 24 hours after a story opens, the story drops. The person who didn’t write gets only one story in their next round; this rule comes before Perde+ and the Single round.
- Long silence: If you have stories every week for three weeks but write in none of them, your account no longer takes part in rounds (it is paused). You can come back from the Lobby at any time.
- Excluding people you know: If you turn on Settings › Privacy › Exclude people I know, you won’t meet people whose numbers are in your contacts in any round. This works only if the other person’s number is saved in your contacts and they signed in with their phone; people who use Sign in with Apple can’t be excluded this way.
- Report: Report is one tap away in every conversation. The person you report is blocked, removed from their stories in that round immediately, and the report is reviewed by our team within 24 hours. Your report is not shown to the other person. You can make up to five reports a day; reporting in bad faith also breaks the rules.
Perde+ and Single round
- Without Perde+: You join one round a week and get two stories per round; your last two stories stay in your archive.
- Perde+: An auto-renewable subscription. You join both rounds, Tuesday and Thursday; four stories open in each round; all your finished stories stay in your archive. There are three options and all three give the same service:
| Plan | Length | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Perde+ Weekly | 1 week | ₺99.99 |
| Perde+ Monthly | 1 month | ₺249.99 |
| Perde+ Yearly | 1 year | ₺1,499.99 |
- Payment and renewal: Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews for the same length and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged to your Apple account within the 24 hours before the period ends. Subscriptions are managed in your Apple account. Switching between plans takes effect at the next renewal.
- No trial: There is no free trial and no introductory offer.
- Single round: A one-time purchase that doesn’t renew (₺59.99). It runs your next round, the one whose countdown you see in the Lobby, with four stories; it doesn’t add a second round to the week. It counts as used once that round opens and you have at least one story. If the round doesn’t open, if you are queued, if you have only one story in that round because of the silence rule, or if no story comes up, it isn’t used and carries over to your next round. It belongs to your Perde account, shows on every device and doesn’t need restoring. The Single round isn’t offered while Perde+ is active, and you can’t buy a new one while you have an unused one.
- Prices: Prices are in Turkish lira and are those on the date of this text. The price that applies is the one shown in the app and on the App Store before you buy. Price changes apply to an active subscription according to Apple’s rules.
- Through Apple: All purchases are made through the Apple App Store; your card and payment details never reach us. Refund requests are subject to Apple’s rules and are made to Apple. If Apple refunds or revokes a purchase, the right tied to it ends as well.
- Restoring: Settings › Subscription › Restore purchases links a Perde+ subscription bought with the same Apple account to your account on a new device. A Perde+ subscription belongs to a single Perde account.
- Account deletion and subscriptions: Deleting your account, or your account being closed, does not end the subscription with Apple; subscriptions are managed in your Apple account. If your account is closed for breaking the rules, we make no separate payment; refund requests are subject to Apple’s rules.
Content
- The messages you write and the photos you upload are yours. You allow us to use them to run Perde (showing them to the other person, storing them, reviewing them for safety); this permission is limited to the extent and time needed to provide Perde.
- You are responsible for making sure your content complies with the law and these terms.
- We may review and remove content that is reported or caught by the filters.
Closing an account
- You can permanently delete your account at any time from inside the app with Settings › My data › Delete account. What is deleted, and the limited exceptions, are described in the Privacy Policy.
- If you break these terms, we may close your stories, suspend your account or close it permanently. For serious or repeated violations your device may also be banned, and no new account can be opened on it. A suspended account sees this in the Lobby; if you think it’s a mistake, write to hello@faapps.io.
- We may change Perde or a feature, pause rounds in a city or end the service. If we are going to end the service entirely, we announce it in the app in advance.
Your safety and liability
- Perde introduces people through writing; it doesn’t look into users’ backgrounds or officially verify their identity. We don’t guarantee that what the other person tells you is true.
- If you decide to meet someone in person, meet for the first time in a busy public place, tell someone close to you where you’ll be and arrange your own transport. If you don’t feel safe, end the story and report. In an emergency, call 112.
- Users are responsible for what happens outside Perde, especially at in-person meetings. Unless we act intentionally or with gross negligence, we are not responsible for users’ behaviour.
- Perde is provided as is. We don’t guarantee that it will work without interruption or errors; rounds may not open or may be delayed because of maintenance, technical faults or not enough people.
- To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damage or loss of profit. Your statutory rights as a consumer remain; nothing in these terms limits them.
Intellectual property
Perde’s name, design, software and texts belong to us. We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive permission to use Perde for personal, non-commercial purposes in line with these terms.
Apple
Perde is downloaded from the App Store; Apple’s Standard License Agreement (EULA) applies together with these terms. If the two conflict, these terms take precedence to the extent Apple allows. These terms are between you and us; Apple is not a party to them and has no obligation to provide support for Perde.
Changes
We may update these terms; when we do, the date and version at the top change. We announce important changes inside the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Perde after a change means you accept the new terms; where needed, we ask for your consent again.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. For disputes arising from consumer transactions, under Consumer Protection Law No. 6502, you can apply to a consumer arbitration committee within the monetary limits, and to a consumer court for disputes above those limits.
